Mitch Altman – hacker-in-residence @ Radiona

Američki inovator i hacker vezan uz globalni razvoj hackerspaceova i makerspaceova - Mitch Altman boravi na rezidencijalnom programu u Radioni tijekom ožujka i veljače 2018. godine radeći skupa sa zajednicom okupljenom u labu.

Mitch Altman - izumitelj, programer i haker iz San Francisca (MA iz elektronike Sveučilišta u Illinoisu), voditelj radionica i govornik na mnogim tehnološkim konferencijama te međunarodni ekspert za pokret hackerspaceova te poučavanje elektronike. Jedan od prvih razvojnih programera virtualne stvarnosti, te suosnivač cijenjenog hackerspacea Noise Bridge u San Franciscu. Mitch Altman važna je figura u međunarodnim pokretima hacker i maker kulture.

Nakon osnivanja Noise Bridge hackerspacea u San Franciscu intenzivno počinje putovati u inozemstvo držeći paralelno radionice na temu učinkovitosti i održivosti hackerspaceova ohrabrujući time njihovo formiranje diljem svijeta.

Podučava osnove elektronike podjednako kao i kompleksnu elektroniku za ljude svih dobi, posjećujući zajednice makera i hackera od Azije, Austrile, Afrike do Južne Amerike i Europe. 2011. godine proglašen od strane Make magazina makerom godine, dok je poznat njegov nastup na TedX Brussels konferenciji gdje predstavlja hackerspace pokret.

Altman je također poznat po svojem uređaju TV-B-Gone kojeg razvija od 2004. godine na dalje i koji služi za isključivanje televizora u javnim prostorima. Redoviti predavač na cijenjenoj hakerskoj konferenciji CCC u Berlinu i Hamburgu.

American inovator and hacker connected with the global development of hackerspaces and makerspaces – Mitch Altman is taking part in the residential program at Radiona during March and April 2018, working together with the community gathered in the lab.

Mitch Altman is a San Francisco-based hacker and inventor, best known for inventing TV-B-Gone, as featured speaker at hacker conferences, as international expert on the hackerspace movement, and for teaching introductory electronics workshops. Altman was an early developer of Virtual Reality technologies and he also started Cornfield Electronics as a consulting company. After the launch of TV-B-Gone Altman gave the company the tagline "We make Useful Electronics for a Better World".

Mitch Altman is an important figure in the international "hackerspace" and "maker" movements. While attending the 2007 Berlin Chaos Communication Camp, Altman and Jacob Appelbaum began discussing the idea of a San Francisco hackerspace, at which time there were no hackerspaces in the United States. In October 2008 he co-founded Noisebridge. Since then, Altman has traveled extensively, encouraging the formation of hackerspaces, holding panels and workshops on depression, teaching introductory electronics workshops to people of all ages and visiting electronics enthusiast groups around the world. TedX Brussels invited Altman to give a Ted Talk the Hackerspace movement. Mitch Altman was awarded as the first "Maker Hero" award by Make Magazine in 2011.
